International Heritage Aviation Restoration Organization “iHaro” is the only organization in the world committed to acquiring, restoring and preserving Pakistani civil aviation aircraft with a commitment of seeing Civil Aviation Museum established in Pakistan.
iHaro’s Vision/Mission
To preserve Pakistan’s Rich Civil Aviation History by giving youth an opportunity to work on aircraft restorations.
Introduction & Scope of Project iHaro.
Our project’s phase 1 started 3 years ago when we found an ex Pakistani Cessna 337B Super Skymaster AP-AVM in Canada. Aircraft was bought from its previous owner and since it has been going through ground up restoration back to airworthiness. Since our goal is to fly this aircraft back to Pakistan and gift it to the Civil Aviation Museum, we have to follow Transport Canada’s rules and guidelines throughout its restoration. This aircraft flew for 32 years in Pakistan and was part of development of country’s irrigation system including Terbila Dam and Tunsui Barrage back in the late 60s and 70s.
This was enough historical significance for iHaro to take on project of this nature. During the course of its restoration, we have been educating youth of high schools, colleges and universities how to work “Hands ON” on a aircraft, we teach sheet metal fabrication, composites fabrication, systems restoration courses and a lot more.
Our Phase 2 started when we wanted to find a permanent home for iHaro’s AP-AVM MixMaster. Since its history is attached with Pakistan, we then want to establish Civil Aviation Museum as National project with Pakistan government’s collaboration and assistance where this and other ex PIA, ex Shaheen Air, Ex Air Indus and certain retired general aviation aircraft with historical significance will be preserved for public to see, touch, feel and share their stories. This museum will also offer aircraft restoration courses to its members as well as volunteers from general public with interest in aviation. Museum will boost Pakistani Aviation at world stage, improve country’s economy and will give platform for all new comers to meet and greet professionals form aviation industry.
iHaro’s vision perfectly aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan to restore and preserve Pakistan’s heritage and history.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
